Our bike route

Luisa and I went on our first bike ride of 2007 a while back. This is the route we took.

I’m not sure how long it is — a couple of miles/a few kilometres or so I think.

Comic boxes in the garage

Luisa and I have been busy. First I had to go through my comic collection, deciding what comics I wanted to keep. These are entire series, like “Miracleman”, “Mage”, “Watchmen”. Then we had to try to sort the comics.

Well, we got up to around “F”, and I’m sure there are still stragglers. I used to have all my comics in a 4th Dimension database. Then I had another database in Filemaker Pro, which is still around, but badly out of date. (Hm, maybe I’ll post a PDF of the summary from 2001.)

I went through the first 11 boxes and did a quick scan of the titles, since people have been asking what I have. This is only a rough scan, and only includes stuff that had multiple issues.

“**” means there were LOTS of the title, either in proportion to the number of issues of the title, or in absolute numbers.

Avoid Global if you want HD

No HD on “Global HD”?

It seems I am not alone [1] [2] when it comes to my dislike of Global TV over the last couple of weeks. Global has not been showing programs like “Heroes” and “House” in HD on their HD channels for the last cople of weeks. As a result, I’ve taken to watching Heroes one hour later (9pm instead of 8pm) on NBC, which *does* show it in HD.

Last night we watched “House” in non-HD on Global HD; next week I will look for an alternate (probably US) channel to get an HD feed.

2007-05-09-1213 Update:
Iain points out that although Global showed “Heroes” in non-HD, a lot of the commercials *were* HD. The ultimate irony was seeing an ad for bell saying “if you had bell’s HD service you would be watcing the show in HD right now”.
