Second Life locks me out

by ,

I tried
Second Life
for a while and then one day I am asked some “standard security questions” in order to access my account. The questions I can choose from are: “Enter the last amount Linden Lab charged to your PayPal or credit card account”, and “Enter the region name of your Second Life home location”.

Well, let’s see, I’ve only played around a bit for free, so I guess “zero” is the answer for #1. Alas, I get an error saying “The information provided was incorrect. You have a limited number of tries.“.

Well great.
I haven’t got the faintest clue what the name of my “home location” is.
I didn’t even know I had one.
I’ve been wandering around and looking.

So screw it, I’m giving up on 2nd Life.

I gave up on Second Life when they upgraded a while back. It meant I’d have to download and install the upgraded software all over again, and the hassle just wasn’t worth it.

I did that, and it wasn’t all that big a deal to me. I’m getting used to downloading multi-hundred-megabyte upgrades of all my apps from time to time.

But given their account setup right now, there is *no* *way* to get to my account any more. So “ptui”.
