I uploaded some of my pictures to Panoramio a while back. The site is a combination of Flickr and Google Maps. I even added a picture from our living room window.Trip to the moon

I really enjoy Jane Austen stories (and similar) and just ran across the
AustenBlog
wherein I discovered that there are four new adaptations,
one of which is
a “Sense and Sensibility” miniseries.
The others are new movies of
“Northanger Abbey”,
“Persuasion”,
and
“Mansfield Park”.
The IMDB pages those link to are pretty sparse, but I would hope for them to swell with ripe data over time.
I blame the 1995 BBC
“Pride and Prejudice”
miniseries for my interest.
So far, that is the standard to beat.
The 1997 BBC adaptation of Brontë’s
Jane Eyre
came close, and has informed my opinion that a miniseries is the best format for these works.
So I am looking forward to the aforementioned “Sense and Sensibility” miniseries very much indeed.

An order of South Park with everything on it
Ronnie decided to show me what it looks like when you put absolutely everything onto a South Park character.
Everything Man
Well, after a series of requests, below are the lyrics to “Everything Man”. And remember, (some of) you asked for them!

Second Life locks me out

I tried
Second Life
for a while and then one day I am asked some “standard security questions” in order to access my account. The questions I can choose from are: “Enter the last amount Linden Lab charged to your PayPal or credit card account”, and “Enter the region name of your Second Life home location”.
Well, let’s see, I’ve only played around a bit for free, so I guess “zero” is the answer for #1. Alas, I get an error saying “The information provided was incorrect. You have a limited number of tries.“.
Well great.
I haven’t got the faintest clue what the name of my “home location” is.
I didn’t even know I had one.
I’ve been wandering around and looking.
So screw it, I’m giving up on 2nd Life.

Just finished watching the latest episode of Battlestar Galactica (don’t worry, no spoilers here) and..
is it just me, or is there an episode missing between the last one and this one?

Twitter and stuff

I’ve been using Twitter to post day-to-day small stuff, but I’ve decided that I think I’m going to do that with my blog.
So there may be more text-only postings without pictures etc.
It’s a big pain still to include pictures with blog postings, given that I don’t just want to use Flickr (since one day I won’t pay for it, and I want these blog postings to be archivable).
We just got back from CostCo where we bought a new membership for the third time in a decade.
Ronnie and I needed new glasses, so it was worth it.
While we were there we got a monster Roast Beef for later in the week, as well as an iPod dockable speaker thing so that Luisa can listen to her new pink iPod in the kitchen.
It’s funny - Luisa has been kind of “against” iPods for a long time.
Even when we were looking at them in flyers etc, she was wondering why anyone would ever spend $250 on a 4GB iPod nano when a 30 GB iPod was only $300.
Then she saw them and held them in her hands.
“Oh, it’s pink!” she exclaimed. “And so *small*.” So, we got one. Hah.

“Day Break” episodes available online
ABC has made the remaining episodes of the show “Day Break” available online. In a myopic move typical of the TV industry, the episodes on the web are only viewable in the U.S. Of course, no such restriction applies if you grab them off of BitTorrent. *sigh
